Of course, we strive to be as green as possible in the center. 🌱 That’s why we’ve installed LEDs everywhere – a small step with big changes. 💡 We also regulate our water consumption using motion sensors, because we shouldn’t be careless with this important resource. 💧 In addition, our roofs are greened to offset CO2 emissions. 🌿 We also use our ventilation systems to recover heat. 🌬
For example, we hold our annual Clean-up Day, where the entire center management, the district mayor, and hardworking Spandau residents clean up the neighborhood. 🧹 You wouldn’t believe how much packaging waste we collect in just a few hours! 🗑
But that’s not all. Many of you might not know this, but our Spandau Arcaden bees are happily buzzing away on the roof of our parking garage. 🐝 Because environmental protection and biodiversity are also very important to us. ❤️ Our beekeeper, Mr. Kohfink, takes care of the busy bees that do their work in our neighborhood. This means: local honey that doesn’t have to travel long distances and, by the way, tastes much better. 🍯
Did you know that some of our stores participate in Too Good To Go? 🧑🏽🌾 If you haven’t heard of this brilliant food rescue program, let us explain it quickly. All you need is the Too Good To Go app, and then you can select your location to see which stores in your area have leftover food that they’re selling at a discounted price instead of throwing it away. A win-win situation! 🙌🏻 At Spandau Arcaden, you can become a food rescuer at Ditsch, Immergrün, Denn’s BioMarkt, Seeteufel, and Ciao Bella, and save a lot of money at the same time. 🦸🏼♀️🦸🏽♂️
